One of the environmental movement's big bogeymen is nuclear power and the spectre of fallout from damaged nuclear powerplants. I remember Three Mile Island and the hysteria it caused (including that Jane Fonda movie, The China Syndrome), well it turns out that the TMI accident has not had an effect on the cancer rates of people living in the area.
